[ Uuuhhh. After a moment of uneasy hesitation, trying to gauge if there’s a correct answer here: ]
I can … go either way? I don’t have any other plans, if that’s what you mean. [ And this guy seems pretty reasonable so far. He’s been stuck around much more annoying people. ]
[ Said as he gives a little tilt of the head, leading the way towards the bar area. The thump of dance music still reverberates through the air, but at least it's a little quieter here.
As they approach, a staff member trots forward eagerly, pulling a chair out for Fuuta. The VIP treatment, it seems. And while Fuuta doesn't seem particularly thrilled with it, squinting dubiously to himself for a moment before taking the seat, he does lean in to say to John: ]
I can probably cover a free drink for you. You're probably short on chips if you're pretty new here, right? So I'll get one for you.
[ He dips his head with a nod. 'Chips' is a new concept. He'd just gotten used to the idea of money being used to buy goods and services (sometimes, when you couldn't just take it, and when that was was unclear still) but if someone wants to get him something, he'll let them. ]
Thank you. That's very kind.
Get me anything you want. I haven't tried much, so it will be nice to try something new.
[ At a glance, Fuuta only blinks and nods back. But a sharp eye might note the way he sits up just a little straighter upon hearing those words -- 'that's very kind.' That's right. He's doing a good thing here, being gracious to a newcomer! It's good to hear someone acknowledging his efforts!
... not that that makes it any easier for him to choose what to order for the guy. ]
Right. Sure.
[ Cue a moment of awkward pondering before he leans in to give the waiting bartender the request of a ginger ale highball for himself and a whiskey on the rocks for John. ... he looks a bit like a whiskey guy? Hopefully that'll do? And as the bartender nods and turns away to start fetching their drinks, he settles back into his seat ]
Just to be clear, though, it's not like I'm trying to get anything out of you, alright? It's just that I know getting used to this place is hell when you're new. You haven't had to deal with too much bullshit yet?
after dark with Fuuta
Hmm.
[ He has no desire to be fucked with, at least in that way, so he looks around for a long moment before turning back. ]
...do you want to split?

Then let's get drinks and spend a little time together. See if the "match" is worth a damn.
[ A little head shake. ]
I don't want to have the place fuck with me. But I also don't see why we can't get to know each other.

Yes, you were clear. And I don't know what you mean by 'bullshit': nothing's tried to kill me yet.
I just don't have any preferences.
